Webdesk, TNI Kalimpong, 5th June, 2015: Kalimpong Municipality has approached the shopkeepers not to sell Maggi till the company’s problem gets restored. Doctor Sangay Zimba, the health officer of Kalimpong Municipality today said that they have not received any circular from the state government regarding the prohibition of the instant noodle but concerning public’s health the doctor have advised the retailers and the wholesalers not to sell Maggi. ‘I have asked the Maggi dealer to remove the product from all the shops’ said Zimba. He also appeals the public to restrain the consumption of any untested noodles for its ill health effect. Speaking about the exceeded quantity of Lead and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) he said, ‘Lead interrupts brain function and MSG locally known as ajinomoto weakens the bones, so it is advised not to consume such things.’ Bengal has now taken the step for the maggi scan but has not yet declared banning the 2-minute noodle. However, a  mother, unlike the caring maggi-mom’s in advertisements talked about the packed-food like the aired-chips as health hazardous, ‘the chip bags are filled with nitrogen to stop them from going stale and our children eats them regularly despite resisting, a ban of all unhealthy foods can only be the solution’ said a mother who didn’t want to be named. ‘My son could wait for another 20 minutes than to feed him Lead in 2 minutes’ she added.
